STL Village April 12th Launch at the Missouri History Museum was a festive occasion with balloons, coffee & muffins, a piano player, information tables from community businesses/services, guest speakers, volunteers, and about 300 attendees. A very successful event that met all expectations. The official opening is June 1, 2014 when the services are open for business.
Launch participants were Bonita Cornute, Fox 2 News, giving the Opening remarks; Ronald Long, Director of Regulatory Affairs, Wells Fargo Advisors LLC giving the Greetings; a Presentation by Linda Kennedy, St. Louis Black Repertory Theater; Dianne Campbell, Founding Executive Director, Lincoln Park Village, Chicago, Illinois gave the history of the Village Movement. STL Village Member’s Perspective speaking were John Craib-Cox, member, Lincoln Park Village, Chicago, Illinois; Gina Wischmeyer, Cornerstone Member, STL Village; Ron Smith, Board Member STL Village, and Sherrill Wayland, Executive Director, Sage. Closing remarks from Arthur Culbert, Ph.D., Interim Director, STL Village.
